Kathy is the staff person relating to all children's ministries at First Church. These ministries include Wednesday night and Sunday morning classes, the First Nursery School and summer programs. Kathy's goal for Children's Ministries is to introduce kids to Christ, watch them make a decision to follow Him and nurture kids in their growth as Christians. As Director of Worship, Janet is responsible for identifying, recruiting and leading people in First Church and in the community in worship ministries. Her responsibilities include leading worship design team, overseeing music ministries, and serving as the staff contact for all worship support teams. She also serves on the preaching team. Worship
Spencer Sweeting
Director of Student Ministries & Praise Worship

Since joining staff in 2005, Spencer has brought a lot of passion and vision to his role as Director of Student Ministries. Spence heads up a leadership team that oversees First Church's Senior High and Junior High student activities, including; FUSE (First United Student Experience), Sunday groups, missions, etc. You'll also find Spencer with a guitar in his hands Sunday as he directs the praise band and leads worship at the weekly 11:00 a.m. worship service. In additon to his roles in the church, Spence finds joy in Penn State football and Swedish fish. Student Ministries
Karl Fisher
Director of Young Adult and Middle School Ministries

It's unlikely to find someone who's diverse enough to have a heart for both college students AND preteens -- but new staff member Karl Fisher is a rare breed. Having led a dynamic college ministry on the campus of Penn State while investing in middle school students through Younglife's Wyldlife program, Karl brings a wealth of creativity and ministry experience in his service to First Church. Karl enjoys hanging out with his wife Bethany, their miniature dachsaund Rufus, and making a pretty good cup of coffee.

Director of Adult Discipleship

As Director of Adult Discipleship, D.G. oversees a number of ministries that provide opportunites for spiritual growth for adults of all ages. Some of these include Sunday morning classes for adults, MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Follower's Life seminars and Disciple Bible Study. D.G. joined the First Church staff in 2006, and is thrilled to be a part of helping people grow in their Christian faith. Adult Discipleship
Shelly Dincher
Director of Operations

As Director of Operations, Shelly oversees the day-to-day functions of the Church Office including Accounts Receivable/Payable. She is the staff person relating directly to the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees to ensure that all ministries have the funding, facility space and resources needed to fulfill their mission. Shelly is a member of the Core Staff and has served at First Church for ten years.
